Join the charming town of Julian on July 4th to celebrate Independence Day with a grand salute to the men and women who have made our country great. This beloved tradition, now in its 20th year, brings together Julian residents, friends, and parade enthusiasts from all over to honor our nation’s birthday in true patriotic spirit.

Event Details:

Date: July 4, 2024
Location: Main Street, Julian
Time: Activities begin at 9:30 AM, Parade starts at Noon

Highlights:

  • 9:30 AM: Pre-parade activities begin with a warm welcome and announcements.
  • 9:35 – 10:50 AM: Enjoy musical performances and a western reenactment by the Julian Doves & Desperados.
  • 10:55 AM: Pie-eating contests for both adults and kids. Sign-ups start at 10:00 AM at the main stage.
  • 11:10 – 11:55 AM: More musical performances and historical storytelling with George Washington.
  • Noon: The National Anthem and a thrilling fly-over of vintage airplanes mark the start of the parade.

Parade Highlights:

  • Bands from local schools
  • Gold Drum and Bugle Corps
  • Mariachi Continental de San Diego
  • Antique cars, vintage tractors, and belly dancers
  • World War II Submariners and comedy entries
  • The enormous American Flag carried down Main Street

Grand Marshal:

This year, we proudly honor the Julian Union High School District as the Grand Marshal of the 2024 parade. Celebrate with us and learn about this cherished school and its significant history in our community as we “Soar Like an Eagle.”

Join the fun, wave your flags, cheer the bands, salute the Marine Color Guard, and be part of carrying the giant American Flag down Main Street. It’s a patriotic celebration you won’t want to miss!
