Rodgess Blount from Roman Shield

During the pandemic, restaurants were not the only ones who missed a dinner for two! Lovers and friends were forced into isolation and the time alone proved to be just the inspiration for a private dining experience unlike any other.

The Roman Shield, owned and operated by Chef Rodgess Blount, was created with the idea of providing a fine dining, date-night experience in the comfort of your own home. He doesn’t have a menu to pick from or packages to sell. He finalizes most of his events over the phone so that he can collaborate with you on your special experience. Truly a change of pace from the Chefs you’ve been watching on TV for the last decade.

The dining was the easy part for “Blount”, because that’s his day job in the U.S. Navy. This Culinary Specialist First Class or a CS1(SW/AW), for short, has traveled to 8 different countries during his service and eaten in every one! That along with his numerous awards in military culinary competitions have exposed his palate to  more than 1 kitchen could in a lifetime!

The name Roman Shield, is an homage to his son Roman who was diagnosed with autism. Protecting him is a priority. Chef Blount prioritizes food safety and sanitation when working with his clients and his son is the perfect symbol of that extra care!

You can visit his website to learn more about his private dining experiences and catering options here! You can also follow Chef Blount on Instagram and Twitter!
